Carlo Nason
The “Osso” table lamp is an iconic example of Carlo Nason’s sculptural approach to Murano glass. Its irregular, organic silhouette evokes a natural bone-like form, with soft contours that give the piece a quiet, biomorphic presence. Hand-blown in layered Murano glass, the lamp features a milky, semi-translucent surface that subtly diffuses light. When illuminated, the glass reveals gentle variations in thickness, creating a warm, atmospheric glow that enhances its tactile quality.
Resting on a discreet plastic base, the lamp appears to hover slightly above the surface, reinforcing its sculptural identity. As with many of Nason’s works from this period, the “Osso” functions as both illumination and art object—its visual impact is equally compelling when unlit. The design reflects Nason’s ongoing experimentation at Mazzega, where materiality, intuition, and technical mastery converge.
Very good vintage condition. The glass is clean and well-preserved with minimal wear. Wiring is in full working order.
