The vertical composition emphasizes depth and harmony, hallmarks of Pape’s abstract style. Born in Rijswijk, Pape studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. A versatile artist, he explored both figurative and abstract styles, designing around 800 patterns for carpets and fabrics during his career. A member of Pulchri Studio, he exhibited widely, including at the Rijswijk Museum in 2002.
