Govert Heikoop (1951-2007) Large architectural sculpture, 1980s

3,450.00

Impressive standing sculpture by Dutch artist Govert Heikoop (1951-2007). After studying under architect Daniel Libeskind at Cranbrook Acadamy  Heikoop started making sculptures from plywood, inspired by color and shape. This piece is exemplary for the work by Heikoop: organically sculptural shapes in bright colors, evoking a scene of space and architecture. In his work reflection of light and color are important. This piece explores that concept even further by adding a shiny polished metal pole to reflect the surface underneath the wing, painted bright green.
