Joop Rutjes, reversible prototype lounge chair

2,950.00

Important and extremely rare prototype chair by Dutch post-war architect Joop Rutjes (1937-2017). Next to his work as an architect, Rutjes experimented throughout his career with chair designs. His special interest had asymmetric compositions with 3 legs, like this one, and reversible designs (chairs both lounge and dining height).

This particular model is especially interesting for its sculptural shape and experimental use of materials. It’s a great example of an architects chair.
The Millen House acquired a large part of the archive of this undiscovered but interesting architect, including drawings, scale models (a lot of chairs) and real-life furniture.
