Large Geometric Abstract Modernist wooden sculpture, 1970s

This beautiful Mid Century Modern wooden sculpture, comes from the collection of a Dutch architect. It features a large rectangular wooden body, ending in a triangular carved top which creates a striking juxtaposition and beautifully highlights the difference of each shape. The deep incisions create an interesting play of shadow and light. One side of the sculpture is slightly rougher then the other.
Its minimalist silhouette recalls Bauhaus sculptures and manifests the maxim “less is more.”
Condition: Very good with some expected stable age splits and nicks.
Marked: The work is not signed.
