Joop Rutjes, prototype tripod armchair blue

2,450.00

A unique prototype chair by Dutch post-war architect Joop Rutjes (1937-2017). This chair is a prototype, only executed ones. There is a mirrored version in yellow frame.
Besides to his work as an architect, Rutjes experimented throughout his career with the design of chairs. In his early career he collaborated with Wim den Boon and made pieces of furniture in wood. Later he experimented with metal and acrylic.  His special interest had asymmetric compositions with 3 legs, like this one, and reversible designs (chairs both lounge and dining height). The Millen House acquired a large part of the archive of this undiscovered but interesting architect, including drawings, scale models (a lot of chairs) and real-life furniture.
