Huge framed minimalist ZERO artwork in textile by a known Dutch artist, signed and dated. With limited use of color and material this piece creates an interesting play with light and shadow, linking it to the Minimalist ZERO.

Zero was an artist group founded in Düsseldorf in 1958 by Heinz Mack and Otto Piene. The Zero group had numerous international member, among others Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein & Jean Tinguely. In the Netherlands, Zero was represented by the members of the Dutch Nul movement with Henk Peeters and Jan Schoonhoven. The characteristics of ZERO are light, movement and monochrome painting. To play with light and shadow, the artists often use nails, relief and ribbed surfaces. There is no longer a sharp boundary between painting and sculpture. All these characteristics can be found in this piece.
