DAWN OF TIME: Archetype no.1

Overview

Edition 001: Dawn of Time

The Millen House is part of Dawn of Time, the first edition of Arcatype — a new series of exhibitions and events exploring the intersection of design, material and sensory experience.

Taking place on 9 April 2026 at Coach House 61 in Amsterdam, the evening marks the beginning of an ongoing programme that brings together designers, artists and collaborators working across disciplines. Rooted in the idea of seasonal transition, Dawn of Time reflects on the awakening of the senses and the shift into spring.

The presentation features contributions by JSY, Studio Rabbit, Opus Mushrooms and The Millen House, combining design objects with a spatial and sonic environment. Throughout the evening, visitors are invited to engage with a curated setting where material, atmosphere and use converge.

The event includes a design presentation, sound experience and hospitality, and is accessible by invitation. Join us for a relaxed evening with culinary dishes by Barbarella, an exhibition by contemporary Dutch designers, and a sound experience led by Alexia Glensy & Alex Dima — followed by local residents. Food & drinks included.

The selection is centred around materiality and fluid form. Works in metal, stone, textile and paper emphasise process and tactility, resulting in objects that are both functional and expressive. Timeless in approach, the presentation brings together emerging designers such as Studio DO and Diana Bitar alongside 20th-century artworks, creating a dialogue across generations.
