Biography
"Through my sculptures, I try to capture a state of transformation — a point where nature and human traces overlap, where fragility and resilience coexist." – Bregje Sliepenbeek

Bregje Sliepenbeek (1986, Breda, The Netherlands) is a contemporary artist known for her sculptural and spatial works that examine the dialogue between humanity and the natural environment. Her practice often begins with raw, tactile materials such as clay, wood, textiles, and found objects, which she transforms into organic, ambiguous forms. These works balance between growth and erosion, evoking both fragility and strength.

Sliepenbeek’s artistic vocabulary is rooted in observing natural processes — weathering, layering, decay, and regeneration — and translating these into abstract sculptural language. Her works frequently explore how human intervention disrupts or interacts with these processes, reflecting on themes of vulnerability, transience, and resilience.

She has participated in group exhibitions and presentations at leading Dutch galleries, including Rademakers Gallery in Amsterdam, and her works have been shown at international art fairs such as PAN Amsterdam and Big Art. Sliepenbeek continues to develop her practice in the Netherlands, creating works that invite contemplation of our relationship with the living environment
