Geometric shapes and curved lines combine to form an abstract composition, possibly the idea of a landscape.
Rudolf Bauer (1889-1953): Member of the German Avant-Garde around Der Sturm with Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Paul Klee and Franz Marc. A particularly intimate drawing, taken during his imprisonment in a Gestapo prison in 1937, when his 'Entarte art' was continued by the Nazis. This rare drawing shows the vulnerability and hope of an artist.
