Intriguing and distinctive work by Tajiri: a double-sided work, signed lower right. One side is characteristically vibrant and colourful; the other is minimalist and devoid of colour. Both sides are signed and numbered.
Tajiri created knots throughout his life, drawn to the form as a universal and immediately recognisable shape. For him, the knot was a powerful symbol—one that could simultaneously express harmony and tension, connection and struggle.
