Arnaldo Pomodoro
Further images
This exceptional two-sided bronze sculptural plaque was created by internationally renowned sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Tecno, the influential Milanese design company. Pomodoro—recipient of the International Sculpture Center’s Lifetime Achievement Award—is celebrated for his monumental and intimate bronze works that explore surface, geometry, and inner structure.
The front of the plaque is inscribed “1979 · 25 anno Tecno” and features a sculpted “T”, referencing Tecno’s logo, alongside Pomodoro’s signature. Remarkably, the reverse is sculpted with the same care and complexity as the front, transforming the object into a fully realized sculptural relief rather than a conventional wall plaque—a characteristic that greatly enhances its artistic and collectible value.
The Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation has confirmed the authenticity and details of this work, which is catalogued in the artist’s archives under M/79/2.
Executed in bronze, the plaque shows natural aging and patina consistent with the material, while remaining in very good vintage condition.
