Few chairs capture the optimism of 1970s Dutch design as quietly as Chan Kwok Hoi's SZ15. Designed for 't Spectrum during his brief collaboration with the Dutch manufacturer, the model was produced for little more than a year, with fewer than one hundred examples believed to have been made.
Reduced to little more than brushed steel, saddle leather and line, the chairs reflect Chan's architectural approach to furniture: rigorous, restrained and remarkably comfortable. More than fifty years on, the leather has acquired a rich patina while retaining its original strength, adding another layer to their material history.
