Biography

Jo Andersson is a Swedish-American glass artist whose practice explores the intersection of sculpture, light, and atmosphere. Working primarily with hand-blown glass, Andersson creates one-of-a-kind sculptural objects distinguished by bold form, movement, color, and an intuitive approach to material.

With eighteen years of experience working with glass, Andersson holds an MFA from Konstfack in Stockholm. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and the United States.

Her practice is rooted in the physicality and unpredictability of molten glass. Rather than imposing a predetermined form, Andersson works responsively with heat, gravity, and movement, allowing the material itself to become an active part of the process. The resulting works occupy a space between sculpture and design: expressive, highly individual objects with a strong sense of presence.

Andersson lives and works in Sweden.
