Clara Schweers German, b. 1994

Clara Schweers (b. 1994, Cologne, Germany) is a contemporary artist whose work investigates the intersection of the digital and the physical. She lives and works in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Her artistic foundation lies in exploring how computer-generated postures and motions can be reinterpreted as tangible, sculptural forms. During her education—first in Industrial Design in Pforzheim (Germany) and later in Contextual Design (MA) at Design Academy Eindhoven—she probed the limitations and expressive potential of virtual figures and the medium of glass.

Schweers’ practice merges traditional glass techniques (such as flameworking, fusing, and kiln casting) with digitally derived patterns and forms. Her works often investigate the tension between rigidity and fluidity, between the distortions of digital interpolation and the clarity of material presence. Through her objects, installations, and collaborations, she maps the residual traces of virtual movement onto solid, reflective, and transparent surfaces.

Schweers’ work continues to evolve along the boundary between digital abstraction and material presence, addressing how virtual behaviors may inscribe themselves into physical form and atmospheres. Her practice invites reflection on the spectral residue of screens, the agency of distortion, and the mediated body in technocultural landscapes.
