An exceptionally rare Dutch Jugendstil table lamp dating from the early twentieth century. Executed in stained oak, the design is distinguished by its highly architectural construction, combining flowing organic lines with a rigorous geometric framework. The pierced and layered wooden elements create a sculptural interplay of light and shadow, characteristic of the transition from Art Nouveau towards early modernist design.

The lamp demonstrates the influence of the Arts & Crafts movement and the Dutch Nieuwe Kunst movement, where craftsmanship, honest materials, and structural clarity were paramount. The elegantly curved support rises from an elongated oval base and culminates in a faceted shade with stylized cut-outs, revealing a sophisticated understanding of both ornament and construction.

While the designer remains unidentified, the lamp reflects the innovative spirit of Dutch decorative arts in the years preceding the Amsterdam School and De Stijl movements. Comparable examples are rarely encountered on the market, particularly in such a complete and well-preserved state.

Today, the piece stands not only as a functional lighting object but also as a sculptural work that encapsulates a pivotal moment in the evolution of Dutch design.

Condition
Good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. Minor wear, patina, and traces of use commensurate with its age. Electrified for contemporary use.
